Metaphor (metta-for)
A metaphor is a phrase or figure of speech that takes a name or descriptive term and applies it to a person or object in a non-literal sense - for example, "the heart of the matter", "a pillar of the community", "a wave of terrorism", and so forth.
Mnemonic (ne-mon-nik)
A mnemonic is something, usually a verse, rhyme or image, to assist in the memorisation and recall of information.
